South Asian Languages in Translation (the SALT Project) is delighted to announce the publishers that have been awarded travel funds for self-directed research and discovery. This initiative is one component of SALT’s goal to enrich the process whereby publishers find and select work to publish.
Seven people in the English-language publishing world will be traveling to South Asia with SALT’s support:
- Salma Begum, Greyhound Literary (Bangladesh)
- Emma Brousseau, Southern Humanities Review (Sri Lanka)
- Aananth Daksnamurthy, Ulysses Press (India and Sri Lanka)
- Rohan Kamicheril, Farrar Straus Giroux (India)
- Erik Noonan, Another Chicago Magazine (India)
- Emma Raddatz, Archipelago Books (India)
- Rachel Valinsky, Wendy’s Subway (India)
Upon their return, they may apply to SALT for additional funds to commission reader reports.
SALT looks forward to spreading the word about the books they found and the people they met!
