SALT’s mentorship program, in partnership with the American Literary Translators Association’s Emerging Translators Mentorship Program, invites applications for eight mentorships for 2025. We are delighted to announce that these distinguished translators have agree to guide the first cohort:
- Bangla – Shabnam Nadiya
- Gujarati – Jenny Bhatt
- Hindi – Daisy Rockwell
- Kannada – Srinath Perur
- Kashmiri – Kalpana Raina
- Telugu – Afsar Mohammad
- Urdu – Musharraf Ali Farooqi
- Premodern, Classical, or Early Modern Literature from South Asian Languages – Arshia Sattar
In addition to working closely with their mentors on a translation project, awardees will have the opportunity to be attend the 2025 ALTA conference and the 2026 London Book Fair as guests.
