This October, SALT had an incredible time talking translation with participants from LUMS (Lahore University of Management Sciences) and other participants from all over Pakistan.
Translators Daisy Rockwell (winner of the International Booker Prize), Luke Soucy, and Jason Grunebaum worked with twenty-six emerging translators over two days in an Urdu prose workshop, multilingual poetry workshop, and multilingual prose workshop. Plenary sessions included discussions about publishing translations and opportunities through SALT. The two days were extremely productive, and a fabulous time was had by workshop leaders and participants alike
SALT board member and LUMS professor Bilal Tanweer was our gracious host, and he and his amazing team ensured translators had a successful trip to Lahore.
We look forward to seeing what the participants will translate in the future!
