SALT’s mentorship program, in partnership with the American Literary Translators Association’s Emerging Translators Mentorship Program, kicks off with our inaugural slate of eight mentorships. We are delighted to announce that these distinguished translators have agree to guide the first cohort:
- Bangla – Arunava Sinha
- Hindi – Daisy Rockwell
- Malayalam – Jayasree Kalathil
- Nepali – Manjushree Thapa
- Panjabi – Nirupama Dutt
- Tamil – N. Kalyan Raman
- Urdu – Musharraf Ali Farooqi
- Non-language-specific poetry – Khairani Barokka
In addition to working closely with their mentors on a translation project, awardees will have the opportunity to be attend the 2024 ALTA conference and the 2025 London Book Fair as guests.
